Syllable counts come from vowel tokens; CMUdict does not supply syllable boundaries here. Variant order follows the dictionary and does not rank correctness. This lexicon does not represent every accent or context.

## Use paradigm in context

Paradigm describes a model, framework, or example that shapes how people understand a subject. It appears in research explainers, business presentations, and accounts of changing ideas. Rather than relying on the term alone, narration should identify the framework and explain what changes when a different one is adopted.

1. The discovery challenged the prevailing paradigm in the field.
2. The workshop introduces a new paradigm for organizing shared decisions.

### A practice cue

Test paradigm within the phrase that identifies the framework, then audition the sentence describing its consequences. Listen for a clear connection between those ideas; an exaggerated delivery of paradigm can make a practical explanation sound more abstract than intended.

## Read the sound tokens

Each example word below is a cue for the named sound, rather than a respelling of paradigm. Unstressed vowels may sound reduced. These cues follow the [CMU phoneme-set key (Appendix A)](https://www.cs.cmu.edu/~aria/Papers/MastersThesis.pdf#page=115).
