Speechify usage limits: what "unlimited" means

Speechify's usage limits page says Premium includes 1,000,000 words per month guaranteed through 2026, with a stated baseline of 150,000 words per month. The count resets monthly and applies to the Premium, HD, and AI voices. For most readers that is plenty: a million words is roughly 110 hours of listening at 150 words per minute.

The more important part for creators is the fair-use section. Speechify says it may restrict accounts that are shared by several people, run by bots or scripts, or used to generate audio for resale, distribution, or broadcasting. In plain terms, Premium is a personal listening plan. If you want to publish the audio in a YouTube video, a course, a podcast, or an audiobook, Premium is the wrong product.

Is Speechify worth the price?

• Worth it if you mainly listen: long PDFs, articles, email, or study material across phone, browser, and desktop.
• Worth it for accessibility, where hearing text is the whole point. Speechify offers extra words for documented accessibility needs at no extra cost.
• Not worth it if you need audio files to publish. Premium's fair-use terms rule out distribution and broadcasting.
• Not worth it if you want a fixed cost. A subscription keeps charging after the project is done.
