Syllable counts come from vowel tokens; CMUdict does not supply syllable boundaries here. Variant order follows the dictionary and does not rank correctness. This lexicon does not represent every accent or context.

Use genre in context

Genre groups creative works by shared conventions, themes, or form. It is useful in book introductions, film commentary, and music discovery. Because boundaries can overlap, a good narration gives the audience a concrete reference instead of treating the category label as a complete description.

  1. The novel bends the conventions of its genre.
  2. Her latest album moves between more than one genre.
