Use statistics in context

Statistics can refer to numerical information or to the field that studies how data are collected and analyzed. Reports and educational narration may use both senses within a single project. The reading should identify the figures, methods, or subject being discussed instead of treating every use as a list of numbers.

  1. The statistics course begins with a discussion of sampling.
  2. The report includes statistics on how residents use the library.
