YOUR MEASURED PACE

120 WPM

Words per minute

300 words in 150 seconds, including your pauses.

How to use this tool

  1. Paste the passage you read, or enter its word count.
  2. Enter the elapsed time, including pauses you want to keep.
  3. Use the result to plan your next narration or presentation.

Words per minute = word count × 60 ÷ elapsed seconds. A 300-word passage read in 2 minutes, 30 seconds is 120 WPM. This measures your delivery; it does not assume a standard reading pace.

Words per minute calculator: questions answered.

How do I calculate words per minute?

Divide the number of words read by the elapsed minutes. For 300 words in 150 seconds, calculate 300 × 60 ÷ 150 = 120 WPM.

Is this for speaking, reading, or typing?

The formula works for all three if you enter the right word count and time. This tool is designed for narration practice; it does not measure typing errors or reading comprehension.

How are words counted?

The counter counts whitespace-separated tokens containing a letter or number. Hyphenated words count as one token. For languages without spaces between words, use a verified manual word count.

Does it record my voice?

No. Time yourself separately and enter the elapsed time. There is no microphone access or script upload.
